Total Integration for Global Success

Supercell captivated the entire world with their mega-hit Clash of Clans. But to seize the opportunity it afforded them to become a globally-beloved mobile game brand was a next-level challenge, and they knew that to support their expansion and solve the challenges involved in delivering content regularly and simultaneously to audiences across the world, they would need help. That’s where Keywords came in.

The Challenge

As Supercell’s success rocketed, making them a multi-IP company with a Games-as-a-Service model and numerous live-service titles to tend, so did their localization and testing needs. They came to Keywords for a solution that would deliver the total adaptability required for their expansion plans.

Supercell has always kept the fan community at the core of their strategy, and supporting the company’s global growth meant providing a steady stream of engaging content – often daily – and servicing their growing list of games and languages simultaneously, ensuring that all their audiences felt seen and cared for.

Key Deliverables

Working closely with Supercell to identify their needs and pain-points, Keywords established three principal areas in which our solution would have to hit the mark:

  • Delivering constant streams of content for every game simultaneously to all global audiences.
  • The management of multiple languages across complex systems, workflows and timelines.
  • Providing top-quality content to players that felt not only localised but fully on-brand.

The Solution

Having identified the challenges the client was facing, we leveraged our expertise and experience supporting other fast-growing clients and worked with Supercell to develop a plan to meet those challenges in an efficient and holistic way.

The jointly-developed strategy involved Keywords absorbing all localization and testing processes and setting up dedicated teams for all the languages in play. These teams would be located across the globe to keep down-times to a minimum, and built to Supercell's requirements to make collaboration as horizonal as possible and mirror their own structures.

Results

Keywords’ Supercell-dedicated teams have become an integral part of the client’s pipeline, working from custom-made offices across two locations and providing a single door into Keywords’ entire range of services. Our teams exclusively dedicate thousands of hours to processing Supercell content, translating millions of words per year.
