  • Training in document digitisation facilitates people with intellectual disabilities with faster access to the labour market

Thanks to Keywords Studios Spain support and collabouration, Fundación A LA PAR has launched a document digitisation program for people with intellectual disabilities intended to facilitate their employability and job opportunities in the regular labour market.

Today’s society is committed to diversity and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. Thus, them finding a stable job in the regular labour market enabling financial self-sufficiency and personal fulfillment is one of the most important achievements.

Committed to social and labour participation of people with intellectual disabilities in society, Fundación A LA PAR Employment Office detected the need for a training project in document digitisation, where the tasks of the job may be perfectly completed by people with intellectual disabilities, to facilitate access to today’s labour market job offers.

Thus, a collaboration agreement has been signed with Keywords Studios Spain, the game localization service provider, to achieve this goal: enabling social and labour integration of people with intellectual disabilities in the regular labour market through theoretical and practical training in document digitisation.

The Fundación’s commitment

Fundación A LA PAR works for the participation of people with intellectual disabilities in a richer, more diverse society. With this mission at heart, The Fundación has grown both in the number of services and people served –about one thousand– and currently employs over 300 people.

The Fundación designs support actions wherever obstacles for participation are found: education, employment, housing, leisure, sports, healthcare, justice. The Foundation also actively seeks to bridge gaps for people with intellectual disabilities to be more and more involved in society.

Established 1948, the Fundación’s track record so far has made it a national and international leader in the field of intellectual disability. In 2007, United Nations’ Business Guide featured Fundación A LA PAR as one of the two most reliable Spanish NGOs for companies to create alliances.
