Keywords Studios is looking for passionate Functionality Senior QA testers to join the team.
Scope of the role:
You will be responsible for helping the Test Lead with the creation and execution of test plans and strategies when required. You will provide support to the test team to ensure that they are able to execute their tasks efficiently and effectively. When requested by the Test Lead, you will vet bugs entered by the test team. You should be capable of prioritizing your own tasks without supervision. When required, you will participate in project meetings with the Test Lead and Project Manager.
You will also have to communicate at times in a professional manner with external clients ensuring that their needs are met and answering any queries or concerns that arise.
You will be required to set an example to other employees. As a senior member of the test team, it is important you lead by example, initiative and behave in accordance to the core Keywords values.
In particular the Functionality QA Senior Tester is expected to:
- Be able to keep the team focused on their tasks.
- Distribute test cases to the test team directly, clearly and efficiently.
- Identify project issues and raise them to the attention of the Test Lead before they impact the project.
- Administer and enforce the quality and consistency of bugs as required by the Keywords process.
- Constant monitoring of the bug database to ensure quality and productivity are up to par.
- Vet, assign and monitor bugs in the database when required.
- Set, monitor and achieve goals through the test team.
- Interact with Testers face-to-face daily.
- Provide daily positive and constructive performance feedback to Testers.
- Provide evaluation feedback to Leads on testers when required.
- Mentor and support new Testers.
- Help identify areas where training materials may need revision.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner when communicating with a client.
- Help with project document creation when required.
- Create build requests and deployment notifications when required.
- Ensure internal project related knowledge bases are updated.
- Proactively raise Help Desk tickets, CCing Test Lead.
- Promotes professional behavior and attitude amongst the test team.
- In addition to the above, the employee is expected to complete any other tasks deemed necessary.
- Conduct Tester duties as and when required.
- Setting up and maintaining testing workspaces when required.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary.

Experience & Requirements
- Understanding of a project cycle and a games’ development process.
- Working knowledge of Functionality QA and Certification testing processes.
- Working knowledge of the 1st party submission requirements and certification processes.
- Understanding of a bug’s life cycle and workflow within a defect tracking database.
- Strong knowledge of the title being tested.
- Working knowledge of QA Strategy and QA Plan building.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Show leadership skills and decision making abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise efficiently.
- Capacity to delegate tasks effectively.

- Relevant experience in a similar role in the Video Games or related industry an advantage.
- Has relevant IT skills in order to work with different software or hardware required for projects.
- Working knowledge all next gen and current gen console hardware and software.
- Working knowledge with mobile and PC hardware and software.
- IT literate.
- Must have excellent English – written and spoken.
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools, workflows, test case management tools, agile tools, and project tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, Spira, TestTrack, DevTrack, and DevTest.
- Experienced with platform specific testing tools (Steam, LanForge, Xbox Manager, PS Publishing tools, Xbox GUI).
- Experience with video capture hardware and software.
- Intermediate skills with MS Excel
- Experience working within MS Office.
