World Mental Health Day: Celebrating our Superhero Moderators

At Keywords Studios, our Trust & Safety team is represented by superhero moderators who work tirelessly to make online video game communities a better and safer place. On World Mental Health Day, we want to pay tribute to our unsung heroes on the front line and acknowledge the importance of providing our teams with the care and support they need in protecting communities from harmful and upsetting content.
Sharon Fisher, Global Head of Trust & Safety at Keywords Studios:
“If we are going to ask human beings to do this difficult work, we have a moral duty to provide them with working conditions that truly support their wellbeing and mental health.
One of the pillars of Trust & Safety at Keywords Studios is to protect and honour the wellbeing of the superhero moderators who work on our projects. We believe in showing up for them — the same way they show up for the online communities they protect every day.
I'm incredibly proud of my team's efforts, from hosting monthly mental health workshops and team-building events — including group painting sessions and BBQs in the park — to fostering a culture of open communication and safe spaces.
This World Mental Health Day, I urge every leader in the video game industry to reflect on how they can create a culture of ‘everyday care’ for their teams. The results of consistent care and support are truly transformative.”
