Can you tell us more about the Syllabes Academy and its benefit to local talent?
The Syllabes Academy was founded to support and cultivate local talent by providing comprehensive training and development opportunities to both French and English speaking talents. The Academy offers workshops, classes and mentorships from industry experts, for all voice related work: dubbing, animation, narration, voice-over, video game, commercial, etc. By bridging the gap between education and professional practice, the Academy helps nurture the current and the next generations of talents and ensures that the local industry remains vibrant and innovative.
What services do Syllabes offers to clients?
Syllabes provides a wide range of recording and post-production services. We offer services for recording voices for video games, casting, dubbing, animation, audiobooks, commercials or podcasts. We also offer complete audio postproduction services, such as editing, sound design, music and mixing.
How does the media and entertainment landscape differ to video games?
The media and entertainment landscape primarily revolves around linear content such as films and television shows, which requires a focus on narrative coherence, emotional impact, and cinematic quality. Post-production for these mediums often involves extensive dialogue editing and soundtracks. In contrast, video games are interactive and demand a focus on immersive audio experiences, dynamic soundscapes, and real-time audio responses to player actions. The key difference lies in the interactive nature of games versus the passive experience of traditional media.
What are some of the challenges faced by post-production studios in 2024? Are your processes the same as they were a few years back?
In 2024, post-production studios face many challenges such as rapidly evolving technology and increasing client demands for faster turnarounds.
