Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing relationships with our network vendors. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, vendor management skills, and a proactive approach to ensure seamless operations and cost-effectiveness.


Vendor Selection and Evaluation:

  • Collaborate with IT leadership to identify and select network vendors based on project requirements and organizational needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of vendor capabilities, performance, and reliability.

Contract Negotiation and Management:

  • Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing with network vendors to achieve favourable terms for the organization.
  • Monitor and enforce vendor compliance with contractual obligations.

Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key network vendors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor communications and issue resolution.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and address any concerns or areas for improvement.

Cost Management:

  • Work closely with Finance to track and analyze vendor-related costs.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement strategies to achieve savings without compromising quality.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with vendor relationships.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure the security and stability of the network infrastructure.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to define and enforce network standards and quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure vendor compliance with quality standards.

Escalation Management:

  • Manage escalations related to network vendor performance issues and work collaboratively to resolve them in a timely manner.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in network technologies.
  • Propose and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of vendor management processes.

Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven 3-5 years of experience in vendor management, specifically in the IT network domain.
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess and mitigate risks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
