Role Overview:

We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Hardsurface Artist to create high-quality weapons, props, and mechanical assets for AAA and top-tier game projects.The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of form, function, materials, and storytelling through texturing, and can consistently deliver production-ready assets that meet artistic and technical standards.You will work closely with Art Directors, Leads, and Tech teams to bring believable, optimized, and visually striking assets into the game engine.

Experience & Requirements

  • Strong experience in hard surface modeling for games.
  • Proven ability to create weapons and props at a high visual standard.
  • Solid understanding of:Real-world materials and manufacturing processesPBR texturing workflowsScale, proportion, and silhouette
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as:Maya / 3ds Max / Blender / PlasticitySubstance Painter / Substance DesignerZBrush (for detailing when required)
  • Experience working with game engines (Unreal Engine / Unity).
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques (LOD creation, texel density, draw calls).
  • Ability to take feedback constructively and iterate efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of game art production pipelines.⭐ Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience working on AAA or console titles.
  • Familiarity with procedural workflows and advanced texturing.
  • Understanding of weapon mechanics and functional design.
  • Experience with vehicle or complex mechanical assets.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted or procedural asset workflows.
  • Basic scripting or technical art exposure.

Portfolio RequirementsA strong portfolio showcasing:

  • High-quality weapons and props
  • Clean topology and UV layouts
  • Texture breakdowns (albedo, roughness, metalness, normals)
  • In-engine screenshots (preferred)
  • Demonstration of storytelling through materials and wear.
  • Clearly indicate your individual contribution for each asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality 3D hardsurface assets including:Weapons (realistic & stylized)Props (environmental, interactive, hero assets)Mechanical and industrial objects
  • Translate concept art, references, and design briefs into final in-game assets.
  • Ensure assets meet AAA visual quality and are optimized for real-time engines.
  • Develop clean topology, efficient UVs, and well-structured meshes.
  • Produce high-quality PBR textures with strong material definition and storytelling.
  • Add believable wear, tear, aging, and surface details that support narrative context.
  • Follow studio naming conventions, pipelines, and technical guidelines.
  • Work with engine integration, ensuring assets perform correctly in-game.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors, Leads, Tech Artists, and QA to address feedback and polish assets.
  • Maintain consistency in style, scale, and quality across all assets.
  • Manage time efficiently and meet production deadlines.
