Keywords Studios are looking for accomplished and enthusiastic Combat Designers to join our Singapore based team working on an exciting, new, and unannounced project. This role is based on-site at our Singapore Studio.

We encourage both mid and senior-level designers to apply.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Designs, implements, and iterates on combat systems, features, and content.
  • Writes and maintains documentation for combat systems, features, and content.
  • Communicates with engineering, art, and other disciplines to produce implementation plans according to design specifications.
  • Deconstructs broad specifications into actionable tasks for designers, engineers, technical artists, and artists.
  • Drive and follow-up on the production of features, ensuring communication and collaboration across disciplines to meet deadlines.
  • Playtests their designs with peers to gather feedback and inform subsequent design iterations and refinements.
  • Polishes the gameplay experience for quality and accessibility to ship amazing products.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of design principles and trends in the industry
  • Learns from and shares knowledge with peers on a regular basis

Experience & Requirements

  • Unreal, Unity, or Proprietary engines experience.
  • At least 1 published AAA title in a proven combat, systems, or core features design capacity.
  • Proficient in gameplay and mission scripting tools and languages. (e.g. C#, Lua, visual scripting)
  • Effective aptitude in basic programming principles, C# knowledge is a plus.
  • Confident in their technical ability to implement low-fidelity prototypes to prove out ideas.
  • Effective communicators in both written and verbal mediums.
  • Receptive to direction and feedback while performing well within a collaborative team environment.
  • An enthusiastic gamer with an understanding of effective game design methodologies and the ability to clearly and passionately communicate this to others.
  • Experience or an appetite for 3rd person action-adventure games is an advantage.
