- Measure and report on operational performance, providing monthly, quarterly and annual analysis to the Executive Team:
- compile profit and loss statements by project, consolidate them into account and company-wide reports
- perform monthly variance analysis: budget vs. actual
- keep track of ongoing margin levels
- update operational and financial forecasts on a monthly/quarterly basis
- Develop (or work on improving current) models for planning, measuring and managing performance to help maximize profit margins:
- analyze and ensure data completeness and relevance
- work with the stakeholders to improve the quality of operational reports
- Integrate sensitivity analysis into monthly reporting and analytics procedure:
- explore the impact of the best-case and the worst-case resourcing and staff billability scenarios
- explore the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on the company margins
- Work closely with budget owners and other stakeholders to ensure financial guidance is understood and followed, best practices are adopted, performance goals are achieved:
- ensure stakeholders are kept up to date with key operational data, issues and improvement plans
- facilitate joint effort between staff representing conflicting interests: different projects and departments
- act in a mentoring capacity to support the career development of other colleagues.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills – ability to summarize and share results with executives
- Advanced Excel skills and prior experience or an interest in SQL
- Strong quantitative skills – ability to develop analytical methodologies and assumptions, use data software to conduct the analyses, and synthesize findings
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, math, statistics, engineering, business or related field is a plus
- 5+ years of work experience in analytical, consulting, financial or strategy roles
- Experience leading analytical, consulting, or other client-facing teams is preferable
- Proven capabilities in finding business inefficiencies, building and then executing the solution implementation
- Solid planning, organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and assimilate new information quickly
- Ability to build relationships and influence groups and individuals at all levels in the organization in order to problem-solve complex issues.
